Concrete & Light I

Description
You walk around with a camera long enough, you start looking for moments when the light and the lines just click. I’d been wandering for most of the afternoon when I turned a corner and stopped. This was it. The street wasn't particularly famous, but the way the buildings crowded each other, leaving just a sliver of sky, had a certain weight to it. The sun was getting low, and it was creating these sharp, clean shadows that sliced across the concrete. It was all texture and contrast. A lot of photos try to capture the whole skyline, the grand view. I wanted the opposite. I wanted to show what it feels like to be on the ground, dwarfed by it all. I lifted the camera and framed the shot to feel tight, to emphasize the height and the sheer density of the place. There was no grand idea in my head, really. It was just an honest reaction to the scene. The city is loud and chaotic, but in that frame, it's just quiet lines and shapes. It’s a simple composition, but to me, it feels true to the experience of being there, standing on the pavement and just looking up.
